Let’s get you up and running on Facebook and Twitter TODAY!
Class Overview
Join us for this two-hour hands class where we’ll focus on Facebook and Twitter. We’ll look at why these popular social media tools may – or may not be – the right strategy to promote yourself or your business.
You’ll learn how to:
• set up your Twitter profile and your Facebook fan page
• start tweeting, posting and liking
• find your audience(s) whether it’s parents, media or colleagues – or all the above
• gain followers and community
• engage and interact with communities to build your business
• use tools that can help you manage your pages and grow your followers such as iPhone apps, SocialOomph, TweetAdder, Tweetgrid, and more
• use Twitter parties and regular chats to your advantage
In addition, we’ll touch on the following topics:
• What you’ll need to consider before setting up your page like profile names and privacy concerns.
• How NOT to be a doofus online by using Facebook and Twitter effectively without spamming people or offending your clients or potential clients.
• How to get the attention of local media and book publishers.
• How to navigate the frequent changes at Facebook and their TOS (Terms of Service).
• How to find expert help in managing your profiles.
Bringing a laptop to follow along during the hands on section of the class is encouraged, but optional.

Anne-Marie Nichols
Anne-Marie Nichols is a social media consultant and professional healthy food and lifestyle blogger. She started her blog This Mama Cooks! On a Diet™ in 2004, where she shares healthy recipes and lifestyle tips for busy moms and their families. She also touches on subjects such as gluten free living, dental health, fitness, weight loss, and food allergies.
With healthy eating in mind, her recipes focus on practical and delicious food that the whole family will love. That’s why Anne-Marie was chosen in 2010 as one of Babble’s 50 Best Mom Food Bloggers and was #8 in Babble’s Top 10 Healthiest Eating Mom Blogs.
