How to positively impact the health of the family that is dealing with cancer


Overview of class:

Cancer affects everyone in the household. As the patient goes so does the family – and a personal chef can help make a positive difference at every meal. This class will cover how the traditional personal chef tenets and service changes when working in conjunction with doctors and nurses that are part of the ‘team’.

What you will take away from this class:

• How to identify the players on the team and become known as a team member as well
• Understand how the changes in medication may affect the client’s sense of taste, ability to swallow and digest food
• How to effectively convert a recipe into a patient-friendly version and still feed the rest of the family
• Marketing tips for pursuing this niche market
• Tried and true recipes for cancer patients

Janice Laird

Jan Laird is a Native New Mexican. She grew up in Santa Fe and attended the University of NM where she earned a BS in Nutrition Education. Jan grew up eating NM green and red chile due to the rich Hispanic culture she was raised in.
